Abstract

The effects of repeated washing, dry cleaning, short-term thermal treatments as well as short-term successive stresses on the deformation resistance of elastomeric yarns through the forces at the elastic limit and through the forces from the plastic area were investigated. Covered elastomeric yarns and bare elastomeric filaments were examined. The results obtained show a considerable influence of the crimp characteristics of texturized yarns in cover as well as certain differences in the behaviour of yarns with elastodien and elasthan core.
