Abstract

The most important development in filament yarn production and processing have been given. Drawing is not necessarily a separate technological process any more. It is partly done throught spinnning speed increase, and the rest during texturing (draw-texturing), or during the process of warping (draw-warping). Important developments in microfilament yarn processing have been pointed out. In the wide area of technical textiles especially significant developments have been done in the production of fibre-reinforced composites, with filament yarns made from glass, aramide and carbon fibres.
