Presentation of a Variant of Development Strategy of Textile and Clothing Industry in Croatia

Abstract

Through a profile of a strategy of textile and clothing industry development, a possible development trend has been presented, without giving a special emphasis to tradition and with no need for high capital investments. Optimal market, attained through a series of strategic moves, has been offered as a solution. The elements, parameters and factors of the strategy have been derived from the choice of an adequate market segment (where export is realised on the domestic market). Objective assessment of the situation and potentials of textile and clothing industry are supposed to define the position and role of these branches in overall economical development of the country. Possibilities of choosing the strategy primarily depend upon adequate decisions that should be made on top governmental level.
