Fifty Years of the Croatian Association of Textile Engineers

Abstract

HIST (Croatian Association of Textile Engineers) and the organizations of textile engineers and technicians it succeeded, has been active since 1948, in all regions of Croatia where textile and clothing industries have been present. Through activities in the restoration of production and education immediately after the World War II and the War of Independence as well as by its role in the formation of personnel through regular and permanent education, HIST has given a considerable contribution to the development of the textile and clothing industries in Croatia, to the development of skilled personnel and science. Through the organization of conferences, lectures, visits to various professional events and specialised fairs, as well as throught its publishing activities, HIST has considerably contributed to the professional improvement of its members and to the establishing of conditions for further development of textile and clothing industries in Croatia.
