Abstract

Major achievements and development trends of sewing machines for clothing industry exhibited at the IMB 2003 in Cologne are presented. The paper describes characteristic sewing machines manufactured by leading European and world‘s machine builders. In this case special properties, which increase the level of technological machine equipment, productivity and production quality of clothing items, are pointed out. Although there were no revolutionary novelties in terms of technology, the trade fair met the requirements by specialists from the clothing industry.
