Abstract

The paper describes new machines and devices using new technologies such as ultrasonic and laser cutting and joining (welding), thermal joining, and waterjet cutting of textile materials. Although these are not new technologies, they are being increasingly developed, in particular for processing technical textile materials. This trend was especially emphasized at the IMB 2006 Fair in Cologne where the breakthrough of new machine types with these technologies was noticeable. One part of them comes from Asian countries.
