Leaders of the reform movement in Zagreb fashion at the turn of the 19th to 20th century

Abstract

This paper analyses the reform movement in fashion, which appeared in Zagreb at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, as a reflection of social, economic, and political changes. On the examples of artefacts, that were used for the purpose of showing the fashion trendsetters of the Zagreb fashion reform movement from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, an analysis was made but there is still space for further interpretation. In this paper historical photographs, illustrations, caricatures, fashion prints and paintings were analysed.
