Abstract

Possibilities of wool protection against insects and efficient protection are investigated and described. Particularly beneficial protection was achieved by using digestive poisons, so development of these poisons and wool protective agents most widely used in the practice are the subjects described in this paper. Also finishing processes of wool and wool blends, in which these agents can be used, are presented. The methods for testing the effects of wool protection against insects (biological, chemical and spectrophotometrical) are also explained. Ecological and toxicological characteristics of individual agents, and reasons for which some of them are removed, are pointed out.
