Abstract

A survey of control and information systems of well known world manufacturers of cotton and man-made fiber spinning machines such as Messrs. Trützschler and Rieter as well as of the manufacturer of OE spining and cross winding machines Messrs. Schlafhorst is given. A shorter review of a few manufacturers of cotton and wool spinning machines is given. A group of individual manufacturers of staple fiber spinning machines, the control and information systems of which are compatible, offer a complete computer integrated technology, the socalled CIM-spinning mill, which enables the spinning of yarns of constant quality with optimal efficiency and the lowest costs.
