The Application of Cube Spline Interpolation Method in Cutting Parts Computer Modelling

Abstract

The investigations has been presented of the applicability of cube spline interpolation method on curved segment of cutting part contours during their processing on CAD/CAM computer systems for clothing technology. The aplicability of the method has been investigated regarding its simplicity, preciseness and rate of processing the curved segments of various lengths, with various degrees of curvature, with a varying number of auxiliary points, and employing computer systems of various configurations. The cube spline interpolation method satisfies all the professional requirements regarding the preciseness of interpolation during the computer processing of cutting parts, and is rate of processing is also completely adequate for a practical application on contemporary CAD/CAM systems.
