Abstract

Computer-based graphic technology is irreplacable in any industrial branch, and in the textile industry as well. But its application in textile printing requires an operator, who in addition to the knowledge and of drawing, dyeing and pattern designing gift also has the experience and knowledge of a technologist. This paper deals with the segment of computer technology applied in textile printing contained in the CAD/ CAM-system, whereby emphasis is given to the effect of scan resolution on the quality of print reproducibility. It was found that at pigment printing excellent prints with resolution of 150 dpi and screen mesh size 60 can be obtained. Using only 4 screens a great number of shades is obtained justifying the economic side of CAD/CAM-systems in textile printing.
