Short-cut Method of Stress Relaxation Prediction
Abstract
The stress relaxation of different textiles has been investigated for a rather long time because of its importance for technology as well as end-use properties. In this article the short-cut method of long-term stress relaxation prediction is presented. It was noted that dependence of relative stress relaxation (P/P0), which characterizes a rate of relaxation, on logarithm of the time (Igt) can be described by two straight lines, i.e., in certain moment the stress relaxation changed the rate. The point of these lines intersection can be named as break-point of stress relaxation. The mathematical analysis of stress relaxation behaviour confirms the breakpoint existence and makes possibility for its localising. The method, based on the maximum relative error between experimental and calculated values (δmax), for determination of this textile stress relaxation break-point is presented. The method and experimental investigations presented show a possibility to predict stress relaxation behaviour even till 10000 sec by experimental investigations only till 500 sec.Downloads
