Abstract

The clothing industry as a manufacturing and economic branch constantly faces the problems of product quality. As a crucial factor product quality is essential for the success of manufacturing and business. Today‘s quality standards at the market are primarily defined by ISO standards that are compulsory and accepted in many countries. Knitwear is during manufacturing subjected to loop damages. This is the reason why a measuring device was built, which is able to detect by sensors the appearing faults in samples of knitted fabrics. Within the scope of the technological project TP-02/0117-08 “Device for Improving the Quality of Garment Sewing” supported by Ministry of Science, Education and Sports within the HITRA program and its TEST subprogram, as a result of the project, a measuring device for the objective evaluation of occurring damages in sewn seams of knitwear was designed and built.
