Abstract

A men‘s shirt production line is taken as a simulation model in order to analyze labour-intensive production strategies. The real in-plant data are first taken using time studies and independence tests, while distribution fit and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for the quality of the fit are performed. Then the real data is entered into the simulation model to test the validity of the model. Bottlenecks in the production line are determined and possible scenarios tried by various what-if analyses, in order to eliminate the bottlenecks. The Enterprise Dynamics simulation program is used to set up the model.
