This research investigates the optimal process of viscose fabric crosslinking with a low formaldehyde emitting agent (modified - A-methylol-dihydroxy-ethylene urea (Ruco Fan) using statistical 3-factor analysis. The influences of different concentrations of crosslinking agents, catalysts and softening agents were evaluated regarding viscose fabric mechanical changes, colour change and swelling ability after crosslinking. The following methods were used for this purpose: determination of wrinkle recovery angle, determination of breaking force together with an elongation, colour change and the viscose fiber‘s swelling ability. Results showed that after crosslinking, the wrinkle recovery angle and the breaking force increased or stayed at the same level, while in the case of elongation and swelling ability, the opposite trend was seen. Colour difference was negligible for the treated viscose fabric. The result of factor planning is the optimal finishing recipe which includes the least possible use of chemicals.Downloads
