Abstract

Polypropylene (PP) is the most commonly used polymer with practical application in many areas such as human and home appliances, automotive, construction, and other industrial applications. The other utilization of PP like fibres is the improvement of their properties by the modification. In recent years there is very interested modification with the inorganic nanoadditives, which provide to prepare the nanocomposite PP fibres with the higher mechanical and better barrier properties against UV radiation and flame retardancy as well as improved dyeability by the classical method (from a dyebath). The aim of this work is to present the effect of Closite 15 A (C15 A) on the thermal, physico-mechanical properties and dyeability of nanocomposite PP/PVA/C15A fibres prepared from metallocene (m-PP) polypropylene.
