Abstract

The term creativity refers to the ability to formulate, reorganize, and retest a hypothesis to solve a whole new problem. Since creativity is not necessarily an innate trait of an individual, but can be improved by learning, practicing, and creating a creative environment, a number of formal techniques have been developed to encourage creative thinking. The paper singles out and describes creative thinking techniques that are adapted for use in scientific research in the field of technical sciences, namely: Brainstorming, BPR 20, Thought Brainwriting, 635, Delphi, SCAMPER and Six Thinking Hats. The same then applies to scientific research into bio-innovative polyester material, the aim of which is to modify the polyester material through an environmentally friendly process that will eventually be economically profitable.
