Synthetic Fibres - Development Tendencies

Abstract

The author gives a survey of synthetic fibres - from the beginning through the improvement of production technology and transfer of these technologies by engineering services into developing countries to the actual situation. The importance of the use of synthetic fibres beyond the traditional sector of textiles is presented. The increased need for fibres will be satisfied by an increase fo production of high quality synthetic fibres. A particular importance in the application of fibres in the high demand new technologies will be given to special fibres with high performances.
