Abstract

In this study the influence of rewashing in soft water on the release of formaldehyde from the fabrics treated with DMDHEU at various curing temperatures is determined. Here the quantity of released formaldehyde in the washing bath is determined as well as the quantity of residual formaldehyde on the treated and washed samples. By the increase of washing temperature more formaldehyde is released in the bath, particularly from the samples cured at lower temperatures. The optimal washing temperature is 60 °C.
