Influence of Finishing Methods on the Changes of Physico-Mechanical Properties of Jeanswear

Abstract

In the paper a survey is given of the most famous jeans garment washig methods, especially those using celulases as enzymes, which in desired way destroy cellulosic fibre by attaching 1 - 4 beta-glucoside linkage. Examined was also loss of strength of the fabric caused by hypochlorite, stones and cellulases. The results obtained showed a significant loss of strength on denim, caused by the use of agressive chemicals. The consequence is a decrease of durability and wearability of finished garments.
