Abstract

The problems considering the projection of knitted goods and physical-mechanical properties of yarns are discussed. The influence exerted by static and dynamic stress and by friction coefficient of yarns on the changes of the basic properties of staple fibre yarns is described. With not waxed and waxed cotton yarns 50 tex the samples of plain weft knit goods were knitted on automatic hosiery knitting machine, gauge E 6. The main properties of yarn before and after knitting were determined. By means of F- and t-test the changes of the properties of yarns caused by winding and waxing, as well as the changes before and after knitting were tested.
