Simpler elastic knitted fabrics structures

Abstract

The differences in stretching to break of the basic structures of woven fabrics and weft-knitted fabrics are mentioned. The force/stretching diagram of the mentioned samples was analyzed from the beginning of the stretching until the break. The elastic deformation of the material is indicated in the diagrams. The reasons and areas of elastic knitted fabrics application are explained. The structures and tensile properties of yarns for making elastic knitted fabrics are listed, with a special emphasis on the elastane yarns structures and their application in certain areas. The basic interlooping of weft and warp knitted fabrics in the production of elastic knitted fabrics are shown. The structure and yarn count are connected with the interlooping and fineness of the machine on which the elastic knitted fabrics are made. Examples of meter-long elastic knitted fabrics and elastic clothing production with a small proportion of seams are described.
