Abstract

The breaking strength of warp threads taken from sections on the loom was measured, and the measured values statistically processed. To simulate the deformation of warp threads, samples from the warp beam were taken. After various conditions of cyclical load on the dynamometer, the nearest degree of warp deformation arisen during the weaving process in segments of the loom was determined. By testing values using F-test, t-test and %2 - test it was found out that there is no difference between the values of breaking strength on the loom or after cyclical load or relaxation measured by the dynamometer, meaning that a very similar deformation was achieved which was imparted to the warp on the loom during weaving. Under the same conditions of cyclical load the extension of warp during stress in segments of the loom was examined, and it was concluded that the extension followed the thread deformation almost linearly. The investigations were carried out under the same weaving conditions on the same loom and the same warp and two different weaves.
