Abstract

There is an increasing interest in the use of enzymes in wool processing, particulary in the context of replacing those processes, which are nowadays regarded as environmentally unacceptable. For that purpose wool tops with different diameters were treated with proteolytic enzymatic complex Novolan L Novo Nordisk. The degree of enzymatic hydrolysis of wool tops depends on several factors: nature and diameter of fibers, concentration of enzymes and conditions of work. The increase of enzyme concentration with the decrease of diameter of fiber was estimated through the surface of 1 m tops and the concentration of enzymes to form the monomolecular layer on the fiber. The surfactants can locate the enzymatic hydrolysis on the surface of the fiber.
