Abstract

Functinally structural materials for garment and footwear have optimal microstructure for opposite requirements, such as strength and permeability. The relationship between strength - fabric tensor on one side and permeability- fabric tensor has been established. The microstructure influence on properties is explained across structure models for permeability and strenght. The overall material properties are determined bridgeing three material scales (micro, mezo and macro). The quality of the experimental results can be improved by probabilistic modelling theory.
