Abstract

The detergents added to the solvent enhance the cleaning properties of a solvent and prevent the generation of static electricity in dry cleaning process. The composition of detergents depends on the solvent type and the choice of cleaning process. The basic component in all combinations is surfactant. Novel approach is based on the application of ionic and nonionic surfactants. The synergism between surfactants and other ingredients improves a detergency and prevents redeposition of stains on textile materials. The paper deals with composition and properties of detergents and fundamental approach to the performance of detergents in dry cleaning process. A new model of lamellar shaped micelles in solvent is recommended.
