Abstract

Care procedures for dry cleaning solvents perchlorethylene and hydrocarbons are described in the paper. The significance of regular control and purification of solvents, applying filtration, distillation and neutralization, is emphasized with regard to the quality of cleaned textiles, blocking of bacterial growth, preservation of the machine and environment. More rigorous regulations require cleaning in the closed system of the dry cleaning machine and purification of contact water in order to achieve less than 0.5 mg/1 PERC before discharging into watercourses.
