The purpose of this paper is to show the possibilities of energy conservation in the textile industry. The textile industry requires large spaces and consumes large amounts of renewable and non-renewable resources to produce textile products at all levels of processing, from fibers to finished products. This, along with basic and auxiliary materials and means for processing and refining processes, includes the energy necessary in the processing of textile products. As energy is more and more expensive and has an increasing importance in textile processing, care must be taken about the efficient way of generation, above all the application of cogeneration, as well as its rational consumption, and this, in addition to general savings measures, also includes measures specific to textile production , which are discussed in this paper. Heat consumption is particularly significant in drying and steaming procedures and wet processing of textile products. Energy savings can be achieved by optimizing the composition of baths, choosing procedures with a small ratio of baths, applying dyeing by impregnation on fuller (pad batch) and other treatments of some types of fibers and mixtures, effective combination of procedures, greater application of continuous processes compared to discontinuous processes of processing, recovery energy from some processes for preheating of incoming streams, energy exchange from hot effluents and heat recovery by reuse of cooling water, etc.Downloads
