Influence of Washing of Cotton Fibres on the Spinning Process and Yarn Properties

Abstract

The contribution discusses the washing of cotton fibres as the operation that can help to increase the safety at work in the spinning mills. Particular attention is devoted to the cost increase in the spinning processes of washed cotton and to the quality decrease of yarns, caused by washing. During the washing the natural wax substances are removed.
