Abstract

The ecological acceptability of natural thickeners from diversely substituted guar gum that are an alternative to natural alginate. Except thickeners the printing paste comprised sodiumhydrogencarbonate, oxidizing agent and reactive dye G.J. Reactive Blue 220. A viscose woven fabric was printed. The ecological parameters COD, BOD5 and TOC were determined for the waste water in the washing bath. It was found out that of all examined thickeners the guar gum of the substititucion grade 1.1 most acceptable because it is biologically well decomposable and very yielding.
