Abstract

Traditional and electronic data sources have been generally described and compared. Key properties and media for electronic data source storage have been listed. Procedures for extracting information have been described, and key terms, together with the principles of handling offline and online information sources explained. Examples of data basis searching in the field of textile technology have been given. Data basis and software for using magazine Tekstil data basis, made at The Faculty of Textile Technology have been presented, as well as some examples of searching and extracting from the data basis.
