Abstract

Cotton knits made from carded ring-spun yarns and worsted ring-spun and rotor-spun yarns were treated with cellulase enzymes Cellusoft L. The highest degree of hydrolysis was noticed on knitted fabrics from carded ring-spun yarns. The degree of hydrolyses is ununiforming followed with the areas of higher and lower stiffness and worst esthetic look. Fabrics knitted from worsted ring-spun and rotor-spun yarns can be enzymatic biopolished. Optimal concentration of Cellusoft L is between 1.25 and 2.5 % during 60 minutes treatment. Knitted fabrics treated with cellulases are from surface hairiness and neps, lustrous surface with clear structure accompanied with small deterioration of strength loss.
