Abstract

The possibility of application of the plane chromatography on textiles is described. In the chromatographic process a cotton fabric as chromatographic base is used and compared with the standard cellulose base. The investigations were carried out with the solution of Orbacid acid dyestuffs (Orbacid violet 6BN and Orbacid krocein MOO). The position of the stain on the chromatogram as the function of the state of equilibrium of dyestuff between the mobile and stationary phase is investigated. The results obtained showed, that the links of dyestuff-cotton fabric are weaker in comparison with cellulose chromatographic base; thanks to this fact, cotton fabrics can be used as the basis. The share and composition of the used acid dyestuffs (eluents) was: butanol:acetic acid:water
