Abstract

The influence of yarn count on glass/PET weft knitted composites mechanical properties has been investigated. Theoretical model for estimating tensile strength and modulus of the composites has been applied. The theoretical and experimental values of tensile strength and modulus show similar trend with the change of preform yarn count. The sample of lowest yarn count shows the smallest difference between the theoretical and experimental values.
