Abstract
The concept of the structural adaptation by means of a system approach and the main mechanisms of management of structural adaptation are discussed and cleared up. The main structural changes of the textile and clothing industry in the world are described and analyzed, referring to the changes of capacities and resource allocation, technological development, changes in the market model and the changes that occured in the business and development strategy of the producers of textile and clothing. The answers of the groupings of developed and developing countries concerning the noticed changes, as well as the experiences in the politics of adaptation and restructuration of the countries being the most important for the yugoslav textile and clothing industry are analyzed. Due to the expected changes in the yugoslav economic policy and the difficulites noticed in the yugoslav textile and clothing industry, a wide restructuration process of the enterprises, groupings and branches of the textile and clothing industry are to be expected. The analysis of the experiences and approaches can serve as a good basis to start the inevitable and powerful restructuration process of the textile and clothing industry in Yugoslavia.Downloads
