Abstract

Due to the investigations of thermal properties, the correlation of domestic and foreign fibres, type polyethylene glycolterephtalate (PET) is determined. Methods for measuring heat shrinkage and hydrothermic shrinkage were used, also method for microscopic testing the melting and the differential scanning analysis (DSC). The results showed, that thermal shrinkage of the fibres at 180 and 200 CC makes it possible to distinguish, the structural conditions of the fibres; therefore can the DCS analysis successfully be applied as routine analysis. The melting point of the fibres, identified by microscopy, depends on the fibre diameter (speed of heating up at 2 °C/min) and does not correspond to the results obtained by DSC analysis for the melting point; it is very close to the end of the interval of melting. The difference of the enthalpy AH is in so much greater as the breaking strength of the fibres is higher.
