Abstract

The authors give a report on the investigations of the influence exerted by machine and yarn properties on the tensions appearing in the yarn during the knitting process. For this purpose a model - a knitting machine simulator has been constructed. The measuring points, representing the needles and sinkers, were equiped by sensors. The results obtained helped to determine the influence of yarn feed, yarn count and cam angle on the thread tension in the knitting field.
