Abstract

Spheric deformation of plain and twill wool/PES blend fabric has been investigated at cyclic stresses. During garment wearing some parts are exposed to similar stresses at bends, especially on knees and elbows. New equipment has been constructed for this investigation, as well as a new method for investigating the embossings, or spheric elongation of the fabric, which can also be used for testing knitted and non-woven textiles. Algorithm has been set for calculating the deformation, and used to calculate, using measuring results, the elongation of warp and weft yarns in the samples tested. A stress that can be taken by a single warp and weft yarn has also been calculated. Calculation of the algorithm has been given, as well as some theoretical suppositions the algorithms rises from.
