Development of the Spherical Fabric Embossing Testing Apparatus
Abstract
The shape of a garment is being changed under loading. In the case when fabric is loaded and embossed by the arm or by the leg with its joint bending, there appear some embossing under the spherical elongation of fabric on some clothing parts (elbows, knees, buttocks, etc.), although because of elasticity and viscoelasticity of fibres this change is only temporary. Just in cases, when loading is too high or it lasts too long, it comes to irreversible deformations. The announcement of the possibility of irreversible deformation appearance in the embossing shape of some clothing parts is very important in selecting the most suitable material for particular ready-made clothings prior to collection preparation. Therefore, an intensive development of apparatus and methods for evaluating garment deformation probability in laboratories has been carried out for years. In this paper all the apparatus and methods, which are being used for spherical fabric embossing testing during wearing are described. From the mentioned apparatus and his method analysis it is evident, that a new testing method was carried out by means of a new patent device for spherical fabric embossing/ elongation testing seems to be the most suitable one to fulfil the real loading conditions of garments during wearing.Downloads
