Removal of Zinc Ions from Water Solutions by Adsorption of Aluminum Silicates
Abstract
Zinc exists in textile waste waters in higher or lower quantities as a result of finnishing processes in textile industry. In higher quantities of 2 mg dm3 could be very dangerous for life of organisms in water system and so indirectly for peapie. Therefore it is important to find the systems which will completely remove Zn+2 ione from water by saving of time, material and energy. Adsorption and ione exchange were often used for removal of cations from water. In this work natural and synthetic aluminosilicates as adsorbents: zeolite A, a mixture of different aluminosilicates with about 39 % SiO2 and montmorillonite for removal of Zn2+ iones form water solutions different concentrations have been investigated. The results were followed by measurements of electrical conductivity, pH values and chemical analysis of filtrates after a dispersive contact method of adsorption.Downloads
