Abstract

In this work the influence exerted by pH, quantity and granulation of adsorbents in the adsorption process on the activated carbon of reduction dyestuffs of the type INDANTHREN from the effluents from cotton dyeing plants by means of columns with the unstationar immobile layer was examined. The authors consider the question of how to find out optimum possibilities to eliminate the dyestuffs from the effluents. The results were obtained by the measurement of pH, conductivity and absorption in aliquot parts of 50 cm3 after continuous drainage from the columm at a throughput of 0.85 dm3h-1.
