Abstract

In the present article particular importance is attached to the application of carbon fibres (C-fibres) in the modern branches of industry. By means of a number of different manufacturing processes, C-fibres are icorporated in the composites. The structure and the properties of C-fibres and their composites are described and a comparison of their properties and the properties of other fibres being applied in the technique is given. A drawing is attached to explain the process of production. The present status of the market in the developed countries is discussed and the evaluation given of the production development of C-fibres and their composites.
