Abstract

The problem of constructing garment for tall and short women should be solved in programs comprising smaller collections of garment and accessories. It has been rather neglected until now, although such collections would be surely accepted and approved by the market. The analysis of disadvantages and advantages of too tall or too short a stature indicates that the rules of visual equilibrium should be applied, following the principles of aesthetic order. Applying the rules of symmetric and asymmetric equilibrium in art designing of garment, visually acceptable, as well as by the implementation of a proper relation between dominant and subjugated in clothing as artistically acceptable unity, results in a proper visual equilibrium. It means that the advantages of being tall or short are accented, while the disadvantages are hidden, or less prominently expressed.
