Abstract

A survey is given of the terms concerning generally the hairiness of yarns, definition and measurement of hairiness. In addition to the description of measuring and testing devices, principles and properties of measurements, the evaluation possibilites and some defects of these measurements are presented. The importance of this kind of investigations for the practice is pointed out.
