Abstract

Photodegradation of polyester-, polyamide and polyacrylonitrile fibre samples was investigated. The changes of the tensile strength and elongation at break of the fibres after determined exposure time under defined conditions were determined. The results obtained showed different sensibility of some kinds of the fibres on photodegradation, particularly on the influence of black dyestuff and matting agents. Special importance is devoted of the interventions by which a lower tendency to pilling and increased sensibility of the fibres on photodegradation can be achieved.
