Abstract

Oriental carpets have been manufactured for centuries using quite simple, rather primitive weaving devices, and a lot of patience and skill on the part of the weavers. Through their matching of colours and patterns, exclusive beauty and small mistakes in hand weaving, they surpass all the machine-made floor coverings. They are valuable pieces of art, which reflect, besides exceptional beauty and value, the whole of the culture -of their creators. Besides millions of knots, the spirit of the time is incorporated in their manufacture, as well as a small part of the culture of the area of their origin.
