Abstract

Parameters of warp before and after sizing, as well as after weaving on an electronic jacquard loom with a CAD-CAM weaving system, are investigated. Fabrics with different patterns and various weft densities are woven using the same warp. Breaking strength and breaking elasticity of warp yarns before and after weaving with various weft densities are measured. The impact of changes in weft density on fabric compactness and quality, as well as on weaving machine utilisation is investigated. The results obtained indicate that weft density influences warp yarn deformations. Changes in weft density impact fabric compactness and quality, while machine utilisation remains unaltered.
